Professional Writing

As a contractor, or through writling.com

I’ve always been interested in the commercial benefits of clear communication, and I’ve been fortunate to find employers and clients who see value there, too. I started out as the in-house or on-call English guy for a number of innovative firms in the US and Europe, then started a London-based company, Writling Ltd. to organize and advance that work.

As a freelancer or contractor, I’ve worked with IBM, Maxwell Technologies, Prowess Consulting, Brillouin, and others.

Through Writling Ltd., I’ve built long-term relationships with clients, including Creaholic SA, WoodWelding SA, Spine Welding AG, Joulia, miniswys, H-TEC Hydrogen Energy Systems, and others.

Independent Scholarship

Alongside my career in corporate writing, I’ve also kept engaged with academic pursuits, presenting at conferences regularly and publishing occasionally. I’m particularly interested in John Milton, 17th-century British literature, writing about rebellion, and cognitive criticism.

Professional language for global business

From 2008 to 2024 I ran Writling Language Consultants, a London-based company that I set up to serve international clients.

Over time my work in Europe tapered off and I focused on US-based contract work, as well as creative projects. Therefore it made sense to dissolve the company and proceed under my own banner.
